Sarah Al-Ghamdi is an accomplished energy-sector professional with more than a decade of experience at SLB, building expertise across drilling and measurements engineering, sales, account management, and operations leadership. Currently serving as WCM Operations Manager at SLB, Al-Ghamdi brings together technical knowledge, commercial understanding, and operational leadership developed through diverse assignments across Saudi Arabia and Oman.

From Engineering Expertise to Operations Leadership

Al-Ghamdi began her professional journey in the energy and engineering sectors through early training experiences with organizations including Saudi Aramco and Cummins Inc. She subsequently joined SLB, where she developed a strong foundation in drilling and measurements.

From 2014 to 2019, she served as a Drilling & Measurements Engineer in Muscat, Oman, gaining extensive technical experience within the energy-services environment. Her engineering background was further complemented by her academic specialization in petroleum engineering.

In 2019, she progressed into a Drilling & Measurements Sales Engineer role at SLB in Muscat, combining technical expertise with customer and commercial responsibilities.

Expanding Commercial and Account Leadership

Al-Ghamdi continued her progression at SLB with increasingly senior commercial responsibilities. From 2021 to 2025, she served as WCM Sales Lead and Account Manager – LWD & Surface Logging in Saudi Arabia.

This role marked an important expansion of her professional scope, connecting her technical background with sales leadership and account management. Her experience across engineering, sales, and customer-facing responsibilities has provided a broad perspective on the operational and commercial dimensions of the energy-services sector.

Leading WCM Operations at SLB

Since November 2024, Al-Ghamdi has served as WCM Operations Manager at SLB, representing the latest stage in her career progression.

Her current position builds upon more than a decade of experience within SLB, spanning engineering, technical sales, account management, and operational responsibilities. This progression demonstrates a career shaped by continuous development across multiple dimensions of the energy industry.

Her experience reflects the value of combining technical specialization with commercial awareness and operational leadership—an increasingly important combination within a complex and evolving energy environment.

A Strong Academic Foundation

Al-Ghamdi’s professional development is supported by a strong engineering and petroleum-industry academic foundation.

She earned a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, completing the program between 2016 and 2018.

Earlier, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering – Control & Robotics at Effat University, from 2009 to 2014.

This combination of electrical and computer engineering, control and robotics, and petroleum engineering has provided a multidisciplinary foundation for her career across technical and operational roles in the energy sector.

Building a Multidisciplinary Leadership Journey

Beyond her core SLB career, Al-Ghamdi’s early professional experiences included assignments with King Fahad Specialist Hospital Dammam, Saudi Aramco, Cummins Inc., and Red Bull, where she served as a Student Brand Manager.

She was also an active member of Toastmasters International, reflecting an early engagement with communication and professional development.

Together, these experiences contributed to a career that has evolved from engineering foundations into broader responsibilities spanning operations, sales, account management, and leadership.
