Reema Hameed Alsulami: Building Saudi Arabia’s Next‑Generation HR and Organizational Capability

Reema Hameed Alsulami is a strategic Human Resources and Organizational Development leader with more than 15 years of experience shaping people strategy, organizational capability, and performance across industries such as maritime, manufacturing, food and beverage, and logistics. As Talent Acquisition & Organizational Development Manager at King Abdullah Port, she designs and leads talent frameworks that connect workforce planning, competency models, succession pipelines, and learning initiatives directly to business strategy and national priorities under Saudi Vision 2030.

From the Factory Floor to HR Strategy

Reema’s career path is a powerful example of how operational experience can become a foundation for strategic leadership. She began in frontline production and quality control roles at major industrial companies such as Americana Foods, Gandour, and Delta Marketing, gaining firsthand insight into how people, processes, and performance interact on the ground. Transitioning into administrative and supervisory positions, she built expertise in people management, data systems, and coordination before moving fully into HR roles at Sunbulah Group, Refi Delights, and Al Jameel International.

This journey from QC and production supervisor through administrative supervision to HR generalist and HRBP gives her a rare ability to design HR systems that are both practical and scalable. She understands not only how to recruit and train talent, but also how to align these functions with real operational demands and performance targets.

Architecting HR Systems that Drive Performance

At King Abdullah Port, Reema leads the design and execution of the HR and OD function as a strategic partner to the business. Her work focuses on organization design, competency frameworks, succession planning, workforce analytics, performance management, learning and development, and employee engagement, supported by policy governance and HRIS implementation. She oversees talent acquisition, employer branding, job design, onboarding, internal communication, and performance systems that improve efficiency, stability, and readiness for future growth.

Reema specializes in building and improving HR operating models, aligning training needs assessments with development initiatives, and embedding data driven decision making into people practices. Her approach turns HR from a support function into a performance driving engine, especially in capital intensive, operationally complex sectors such as ports and logistics.

Bridging Strategy, People, and Technology

Reema’s academic background supports her strategic orientation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from King AbdulAziz University and an MBA from the International Business Academy of Switzerland, equipping her with a strong foundation in management, business analysis, and transformation thinking. Her credentials are further strengthened by professional certifications, including Certified Performance Management Systems Audit Professional from The KPI Institute, Certified Strategy & Business Planning Professional (C‑SBP) from the KPI Institute, and CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development, along with 18 additional certifications across HR, leadership, and technology.

These qualifications enable her to integrate modern tools such as HR analytics and evidence based planning into everyday HR practice, ensuring that decisions are both strategic and measurable. She is particularly interested in strategic HR, organizational development, and capability building, always asking how structures, skills, and behaviors can be refined to improve people effectiveness and organizational resilience.

A Transformational Role in Saudi Industry

Within Saudi Arabia’s industrial and logistics ecosystem, Reema stands out as a leader who can translate Vision 2030’s ambitions into concrete HR and OD action. By strengthening talent pipelines, embedding performance culture, and optimizing workforce planning and development, she helps organizations adapt to rapid change, automation, and digital transformation. Her cross sector experience spanning food production, FMCG, industrial distribution, and port operations means she understands how to customize HR solutions for different business environments while maintaining a consistent focus on capability and accountability.

Saudi Women Leaders recognizes Reema Hameed as an inspiring organizational transformation trailblazer whose work is helping to reshape how Saudi companies think about talent, structure, and performance. Through her leadership at King Abdullah Port and her broader impact across industrial and logistics employers, she is advancing a more agile, capable, and future ready workforce that aligns HR strategy with national growth and innovation.
